The Alberni North occurrence is located in the head waters of Brookhoust Creek, approximately 2 kilometres south of Great Central Lake.

The area is underlain by basalt of the Upper Triassic Karmutsen Formation (Vancouver Group) crosscut by a number of northwest trending granodiorite or quartz diorite dikes. The basalt hosts small quartz veins which occur in a silicified and altered shear zone.

Locally, a 300 metre long quartz stock work zone is exposed along an old logging road. The quartz stringers vary from 1 to 10 centimetres in width and are hosted in basalt. The quartz stock work hosts pyrite and chalcopyrite mineralization. In 1995, a grab sample (R95-30) assayed 0.363 per cent copper and 1.33 grams per tonne gold (Assessment Report 24059). In 1998, a rock sample (9704) assayed 2.3 per cent copper, 8.5 grams per tonne gold and 18.5 grams per tonne silver. Other samples, taken over a 200 metre length of exposed quartz stock-working, yielded from 0.036 to 0.149 per cent copper (Assessment Report 25690).

During 1991 through 1998, J. Telegus completed programs of prospecting and geochemical sampling on the area as the Colour, Prime Stock and Alberni North claims.
